Holoholo Review: An Online Review Source for Materials on Hawaii and the Pacific
HR is an online review source for books, periodicals, recordings, websites and other digital resources for the use of librarians who order materials related to Hawaii and the Pacific. All signed and dated reviews are by librarians or LIS students. HR began in February 2005 as a service project of the Library & Information Science Program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa student chapter of the American Library Association. Our mission is to raise librarians' and readers' critical awareness of books and other materials published in or about Hawaii and the Pacific. We define the Pacific as including all nations in or bordering the Pacific Ocean. We hope that this free forum will support publishing in the Pacific and promote greater mutual understanding. Reviews are edited by UHM LIS Assistant Professor Andrew Wertheimer. Publishers interested in promoting their books, and librarians / LIS students interested in reviewing are warmly encouraged to check out the links below. HR also welcomes the submission of scholarly and informal notes relating to libraries, reading, publishing and LIS in the Pacific.
